PostHeaderIcon Problems with pests that homeowners hate

One of the joys in life is owning your own home. But with the privilege of owning your own home comes the many headaches and responsibilities. One type of headache that homeowners have to deal with are pests. We all don’t like the sight of ants all over our food or trash can.Or what is even worse is finding mouse droppings all over the house. So when that happens to you what you will need to do is some pest control. This article will cover some ways that you can do it.

First of all these are tips coming from experience dealing with a lot of pests in my San Diego pest control service. That is why I know and can understand the pain and frustration they experience when trying to kill them. Some types of pests will be tougher to get rid of then others. But one thing the pests all have in common is you can find ways to get rid of them from your house.

First off let’s look at ants for instance. When you have to get rid of them by yourself that battle never seems to end.  You kill them and clean up whatever it was they attacked. But the following day they will be back.  I hear the same story all the time in my San Diego ant control service. With ants probably the best way you are going to be able to get them out of your house is with a pest control company.  Because they can kill the ants at their colonies.  That is the only way to stop them.

Rodents are the next type of pest that people just don’t like dealing with. This is they type of pest that someone can kill on their own. What they will need to do is get some traps set up in the attics and basements.  Wherever you find them nesting that is where you want to set up traps.  You want to get them early because they can reproduce in a hurry from what I have seen in my San Diego rodent control service.

So as evidenced ants are one pest that troubles everybody. But as was pointed out to you, pests can be taken care of.

PostHeaderIcon electric bicycles for alternative city transportation

If the city decides to expand a trial program using electric bicycles as alternative transportation, cupertino city employees soon could be pedaling to meetings and other events.

The city recently purchased an EZip electric bicycle for $750 from Los Gatos-based Mader Technologies, and city leaders said they hope the bike, which is a hybrid of a standard mountain bike and a low-speed electric motorcycle, will be an eco-friendly alternative that will save the city fuel money in the long run.

If city staff finds the bike practical, the city could purchase as many as four more bikes, said Erin Cooke, environmental affairs coordinator. From the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, the city also has applied for transportation funding grants. Bikes typically cost between 0 and ,000.

After the new bike completes legal, safety and staff training requirements,The city will start testing it.

Cooke said the city recently completed a greenhouse gas emission inventory and found that approximately 16 percent to 18 percent of emissions come from the city’s vehicle fleet.

Rick Kitson, city and environmental affairs spokesperson, says the bicycle is ideal for a small city like Cupertino, which is 11 square miles.

he said, to get to meetings across town, employees could use the bicycles.

Cooke added:”A lot of our local trips are no more than three to five miles”.

to 15 miles per hour, and comes with a battery pack and control system on the handlebars, which powers the back wheel. The battery pack takes about six hours to fully charge, according to local electric bikes dealer Thomas Mader.

Before it needs a charge if there is a mix of human and electric power, the battery power for the bike lasts for about 10 to 15 miles. The battery lasts about seven to 10 miles if there is no pedaling, according to Mader.

“We really like this over a more traditional electric bike because once those run out of power, there really is no other option for getting back,” Cooke said.
